The Katz Family Created a Legacy for Westville Synagogue

When my much-loved husband, partner, and best friend, Jay Katz z”l, died in 2008, I set up a fund in Jay’s memory through the Jewish Foundation for the benefit of Westville Shul. I thought that this was an excellent way to commemorate our years together, the warm friendship that both of us developed with Rabbi Feldman z”l, and the many hours that we enjoyed davening and socializing at Westville. The fund has continued throughout these past 18 (חי) years to help our shul in its small way and contribute to its daily life. Every time I receive a statement from the Foundation, I am reminded of our “Westville years” together and encouraged to feel proud of our commitment to the survival and flourishing of our shul. — Marilyn Katz
