Both of us grew up in families that kept the synagogue at the center of their lives—our parents attended services regularly, served as officers, and sent their children (us!) to synagogue schools or Jewish day schools. When considering a move to New Haven 43 years ago, the first thing we looked for was an Orthodox synagogue where we could give our children those same experiences.
