Application for needs based overnight Summer Camp Scholarship 2024

  1. The Israel Scholarship program is open to Jewish students 15-20 years of age who live in the Greater New Haven area. Click here to view the map of catchment area.
  2. The applicant must participate in an approved program to Israel which is a minimum of 3 weeks that will begin anytime from the summer after ninth grade through high school graduation, including a gap year.
  3. Eligible programs must be educational and can include formal community service, volunteer work, as well as formal study. The program must be sponsored or part of a recognized organization or institution. Click here for some recognized programs.
  4. The applicant should seek additional sources of scholarship funding from his/her synagogue (if affiliated) and the applicable Israel program/sponsoring organization.
Application Requirements

The Jewish Foundation of Greater New Haven awards scholarships to enable young people to participate in recognized Jewish summer overnight camp. Scholarships are awarded to Greater New Haven area residents on the basis of financial need.

There is one application per family. All information will be treated with the strictest confidentiality. The Camp Scholarship Committee receives applications that are stripped of personal identity information so the applications can be considered anonymously. Only those applicants who fully comply with all of the instructions can be assured that their application will be reviewed by the Committee. Note that applicants will be required to upload a copy of the first two pages from the parents signed 2018 Federal Income Tax Return as well as a financial aid letter from the camp which the applicant(s) will be attending.

Applications must be submitted BY 11:59 P.M. ON Monday, June 10, 2024. The Committee will not review any applications submitted after this date.
